As we continue to expand, we are seeking a motivated and organized Commercial Construction Foreman.

Position Overview:

A Commercial Construction Foreman is a mid-level manager who is the glue that holds construction company field workers together. They work closely with managers to determine job schedules, hiring needs and deadlines for specific tasks as well as safety protocols to enforce among workers and subcontractors. They use their trade experience in this role, depending upon what’s needed for the project. They are responsible for providing the majority of the hand tools needed for multiple trades. Specialty items or safety equipment will be issued or obtained from company inventory as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.

· Request staffing and monitor attendance of crew.

· Allocate general and daily responsibilities.

· Supervise and train workers and tradespeople.

· Ensure manpower and resources are adequate to safely and efficiently perform job tasks.

· Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met.

· Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.

Purchase materials, equipment and supplies as needed and monitor expenditures.

Submit receipts and other documents as required.

· Report on progress to managers and resolve problems when they arise.

· Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment.

· Understand and enforce company policies and procedures.

· Manage inspections for numerous job phases and from various municipalities.

Requirements and skills

· Proven experience as construction foreman.

· In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering reports, drawings, plans and blueprints.

· Proficiency with company issued phone, iPad, computer or other communication devices.

· Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

· Ability to communicate and report effectively.

· Problem-solving abilities.

· Good physical condition and stamina. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

· Ability to participate in stand-by duty and report back to work if called.

· High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (demo, drywall, framing, carpentry, paint, etc.)

Working conditions

  • Will include working inside buildings with construction in progress.
  • Will include working outside of buildings in sometimes extreme weather and extreme heat.
  • Will include working from roofs, scaffolding, scissor lifts or other elevated surfaces.

Physical demands

· Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

· Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

· Must possess the visual acuity to operate equipment and motor vehicles, perform trades tasks, inspect the work of others, and review work for accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness.

  • Will include using a variety of construction tools/equipment.

Salary: $26.00-$40.00 per hr.
